Bechyn Czech Folk Dancers
Our Bechyn Czech Folk Dance group was formed in 1994 and performs each year at the Czech Heritage Festival. Our dance group now includes second generation dancers! Members range in age from 3 years old thru adult (even grandparents!). We strive to perform authentic Czech/Slovak folk dances, and also have choreographed original folk dances. In 2013, we debuted our new kroj (folk dress) which is fashioned after kroj from the Valassko region, Moravia, Czech Republic.
Our weekly practices start in June. If you are interested in joining our dance group, please contact us at email@example.com.
Roof Shingling Fundraiser
Each year, on the second Sunday of August, family and friends travel to Bechyn, a 140 year old bohemian settlement, to celebrate their Czech heritage. However, you don't have to be Czech to enjoy this one of a kind celebration - just a little bohemian in spirit!
Amid the back drop of farm fields and our lovely church building, enjoy live music and and ethnic foods featuring jitrnice, sauerkraut, and homemade kolache and knedliky. And of course, there will be pivo (beer)!
St. Mary's Preservation Association, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is proud to sponsor the annual Czech Festival. Proceeds are used for the care and preservation of our 100 year old church building and grounds.
(Bechyn is located 10 miles north of Redwood Falls, Minnesota)

Czech Heritage Festival
August 11, 2019
St. Mary's Preservation Association has started a fundraising effort for the purpose of replacing the shingles on the roof of our 100 year old church. The current shingles have stood up against our Minnesota winters for nearly forty-five years, and it is now time to start fundraising for St. Mary church building's future.
